All About Me:

Hi I am glad that you found my About Me page! I am Bridget Gerards. I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I am a third-year student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I came into college planning on majoring in Elementary Education but due to my passion I decided to switch to Advertising. My Major is Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in History. UNL has given me many opportunities to thrive in my own environment while also learning new skills no matter the course. I have met so many people and have been part of a handful of different projects that have given me plenty of experience to learn and grow in this field. I am on track to graduate in May of 2025 and cannot wait to start and pursue my dream career!
I am an active member of Pi Beta Phi and work at the UNL Children's Center. This past fall I was involved in the Buoy Experience Lab and could not be more grateful. It helped me add more to my resume and work with real clients! This spring semester I am involved in UNLimited Sports. It is another section of the College of Journalism's Experience Labs. I will work on 5 portfolio pieces based on Sports Media. I really want to go into the Social Media aspect of the Advertising world. I have been given the opportunity to run my sorority's social pages and it has given me great experience in the social media field! I am excited to announce that I have been accepted into Jacht, a student-run professional advertising agency at UNL. I will work as a Social Media Strategist! All of these experiences I have been give have helped me gain more insight into what my future career holds!

I grew up in Omaha and have always loved how Omaha is a tight-knit community despite the size. My upbringing gave me so many opportunities to explore what field of work I wanted to go into. Omaha is the home of the College World Series and that is where I began to fall in love with Advertising. There are always so many different companies and vendors around the city during the CWS that I have been immersed in Advertising for a long time before I even knew it! A quick fun fact about me is I have never personally had a family pet up until last year when my sister adopted the most spoiled dog, Mabel!
